This week’s Spoonflower design contest theme is 2016 Calendar Tea Towel. It’s a very competitive contest every year, and there are so many cool designs to choose from.
My design started in a totally different place. My original idea just wasn’t working and rather than beat it to death, I changed it totally. Sometimes it happens and you just have to go with it. As soon as I did that, it started to flow. And I love the results so I’m pretty glad it went the way it went.
I incorporated a “chalkboard” feel with some shabby, vintage details and typography.
