My fabulous and talented friend Lacey of Feathering My Nest in Calgary and I are teaming up to bring you some fun holiday projects that you can do yourself! Lacey is a DIY, shabby vintage creator, old things lover, and fellow glitter enthusiast, and she makes beautiful re-loved pieces of furniture and decor for your nest, as well as her own. We met several years ago via an online crafty swap and stayed in touch ever since.
We came up with the idea to create some fun and do-able projects for the holidays, and this is our first one, some free printable gift tags! I designed them in a shabby vintage style, one set of black print that will work on almost any colour of paper or card stock, and one set of gold glitter print, because, glitter!

I decided to play with them and I painted some plain sheets of kraft, white and cream cardstock, using sparkley Twinkling H20 watercolour paints. They have a lovely pearly shimmer that adds an extra luxe touch. They can cause a bit of warping on regular paper so use water sparingly-ish, and a dry iron on the back (not on the painted side) once the paint is dry smoothes that right out.
After I painted the paper, I printed them with my laser printer, then cut them out, added a few sparkly gems, and wrapped up a couple of goodies. I must admit that I really, really suck at wrapping presents. I have zero patience and usually get Norm to do it! So with some pretty tags, maybe I’ll have a bit more wrapping juju.
I also mixed in some of my new glitter print wrapping paper, (also can be ordered as fabric or wallpaper too) Glitter Ombre- Holiday, available on Spoonflower here, and the Glitter Chevron in Gold, available on Spoonflower here.
You can have tons of fun with the tags, try painting cardstock, or add touches of glitter, gems, or sparkly pens or paint for some extra bling.
The glitter tags will work best if printed on white or light coloured paper, the black can go on almost any colour you want to use.
If you print some up, we’d love to see, feel free to show and tag Lacey and me on Instagram:
